Darkness

The dark black cloud
Smothers the daylight sky
It brings darkness among us
And makes me want to cry

The day is gone
The night is here
Flowers are sleeping
And the dawn is near

Everyone’s in bed
Shutters are closed
Waiting for tomorrow
When the dark black cloud goes

The Not So Distant Future

It always seemed so far away
In the distant future
Yet slowly it was creeping up
Without me even noticing
Only days away now
Where did the time go?
Time never to be seen again
It passed so fast
And now without any warning
The time never to come
has arrived.

The Wait

Birds are chirping, dawn is near
Another night gone, another day to appear
What will it bring, sadness, joy, anger, serenity
I wish I knew but all I feel is empty

The brightness has won the war
Surrounds us with a clear blue sky
The victory will be short
For soon the clear blue sky will die

For now all there is to do is wait
Embrace the day or let it take me
I just sit, hope it passes fast
Hope the day will soon flee
