Great site, love Myrtleville.
Many happy memories from the 70's staying at Manion cottages.
Hanging out at the beach, The Bunny is the best. Spent many hours with the Hammid family and O'Learys. Came back in 2004 loved how there my secret garden hasn't changed much.
Heard some bad news about the Bunny. Can anyone confirm?

I have wonderful memories of visiting my grandparents James and Kate Daunt of Myrtleville when I was a child. My sister, daughter, and I, together with my parents, visited Crosshaven and Myrtleville about 4 or 5 years ago. My mum had wanted to put some flowers on her parents' grave and visit all the special places of her childhood. I am so pleased we were able to do that for her because sadly, our beloved mum, the former Eileen Daunt, and the last surviving child of James and Kate Daunt, passed away last November. Her memories of her childhood in Myrtleville were a great comfort to her and we loved listening to her stories. We look forward to returning in the not too distant future.

What memories your site brought back. I spend most of the summers of my formative years holidaying at Poulgorm.

When the macarel flowed in August catching them off the rocks and having to clean and gut them if we wanted to 'sell' them to Jock Porteous for 3d a dozen. At this time Mr Long would come along with his net and would simply make one scoop and catch more than we could in a week.

Learning to swim under the watchful eyes of Gus Healey.

then their were the 'dances in the boat house with the music provided free by musicians on holidays from the city.

Walking through the fields to Bolsters/Daunts to get the messages and in particular the milk and those wonderful floury potatoes grown on their farm. We used to take the same route on Sundays to the schoolhouse for Mass. Wonderful days.

Walking to Templebreedy to watch the fireworks in the harbour below. I could write a lot more.

Thank you
